Caddy launches a personal AI that lives in your texts

Caddy is a proactive personal AI you message directly, with no separate app to open: on iPhone it works over iMessage, on Android over RCS and SMS. It watches your calendar, messages, and tasks, and texts you when something needs attention. It can also handle reminders, follow-ups, and calendar updates in the background. The company launched to public beta on April 30, 2026, and it's free while in beta. Caddy is part of Y Combinator's Fall 2025 batch, based in New York, and was founded by Connor Waslo and Rajiv Sancheti, who previously worked together on Loom's AI suite. Early reports put its seed funding at around $500,000, with Pioneer Fund among the investors.

Why it matters

Caddy sits in the same category as Poke, Instinct, and Pally: a logistics assistant that lives in your texts instead of another app to check. Worth knowing about if you're comparing text-native personal AIs, but there's nothing urgent to do unless you're shopping in that lane right now.
