Lindy kills its AI agent and relaunches as Lindy Teammate, a Slack coworker
On August 10, 2026, Lindy founder and CEO Flo Crivello announced "we kill the AI agent" and introduced Lindy Teammate: an AI coworker that works out of Slack instead of iMessage or SMS. You add it to your team's Slack channels, and anyone can hand it work directly there. It sits in on meetings, connects to the tools your company uses, and keeps a running memory of context from the messages and meetings around it. This is Lindy's third distinct product in about 18 months: a no-code agent builder starting in 2024, then Lindy Assistant, a personal iMessage and SMS assistant, from February 2026, and now Lindy Teammate.
Why it matters
If you were evaluating Lindy Assistant as an iMessage-based personal assistant, know that the company's current focus has moved to Lindy Teammate, a team-facing tool that lives in Slack instead. Worth knowing about if you're comparing team-facing AI coworkers, but this is a positioning shift, not a feature you need to act on.
