Hermes 0.21.7 moves official source installs to stable release updates

Your move: Source installs can opt back into every main commit with hermes update --set-channel main

Hermes published the stable 0.21.7 patch on October 12; its notes label the release October 11. Source installs from the official repository now update to the latest tagged release instead of every commit on main. An install already newer than that release stays where it is until a newer release appears. Source installs in the desktop app get a Stable releases / Every commit switch, while the CLI can follow main with `hermes update --set-channel main`. Forks and mirrors keep following main, and Store, MSIX and bundled desktop installs are unchanged.

Why it matters

Official source installs get a less volatile update path without being moved back to an older version. Check the channel if you deliberately want unreleased changes. The patch also preserves signed reasoning when sessions resume and improves update checks behind some firewalls. The full feature roundup for this development window is deferred to 0.22.0, so this entry covers the changes explicitly documented for 0.21.7.
