Grok Bot joins The X Subscription with a shared weekly usage pool
Your move: Grok Bot starts at Premium $30/month; third-party models in Cursor are billed separately at API list prices
On October 12, x.ai introduced The X Subscription, one plan covering Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium, open to new customers immediately and rolling out globally over the following days. Paid plans include a shared pool of Grok model usage that works across the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X and Cursor, and the allowance refreshes weekly rather than monthly. The tiers are Free at $0, Plus at $8/month, Premium at $30/month, Super at $100/month and Ultra at $200/month. Grok Bot is included from Premium up, and x.ai says each tier provides at least twice as much coding usage with its models as the comparable Cursor plan.
The catch is third-party models. On the new plans they are still available in Cursor on Premium and above, but usage is billed separately at API list prices through top-ups, with optional spending caps; there is no included third-party allowance. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current plan, price and features, and their included third-party usage continues until they switch. The option to switch is rolling out through account billing settings over the next few days, with a prorated refund for the old plan. x.ai also confirmed the new Ultra is not the previous Cursor Ultra plan, which is closed to new signups.
Why it matters
If you pay for any of Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor or X Premium separately, this bundle can cut the combined bill: Premium at $30/month replaces what x.ai says was $90/month across SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+. But the weekly pool is shared across everything, so heavy Grok Bot use draws the same allowance as Cursor coding, and anyone who relies on Claude, GPT or other third-party models in Cursor should compare the API-list top-up cost against their current included allowance before switching. Check both allowances in your billing settings first; keeping the old plan remains an option.
