ChatGPT Workspace Agents starts charging for usage
The free preview for ChatGPT Workspace Agents ended on July 6, 2026 (OpenAI had already pushed the original May 6 cutoff back once). Every agent run invoked inside ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, or Teachers workspaces now draws down credits on top of the per-seat subscription these teams already pay, based on input, cached input, and output tokens. Runs triggered outside ChatGPT, such as an agent replying in a connected Slack channel, aren't metered yet.
Why it matters
If your team built workflows on Workspace Agents during the free preview, budget for it now: usage inside ChatGPT itself has a real, variable cost as of July 6. Agents that mostly run through Slack still have some runway before that changes too.
Only runs invoked inside ChatGPT are metered so far
