Townie adds Google Maps lookups, Decks templates, and live voice chat

Your move: Three small feature adds over one week, nothing to change today

Town rolled out three small feature updates to Townie over about a week. On September 4, 2026, Townie gained access to Google Maps, so you can ask it to look up a place, check its hours or rating, or get directions and travel times. On September 9, 2026, Town Decks got a bigger update: you can now build custom themes, save a deck as a reusable template, and use a more capable deck editor. On September 10, 2026, Townie added live voice conversation powered by OpenAI's GPT-Live, so you can tap a talk icon anywhere in the app and speak with it the way you would with a person.

Why it matters

None of these require anything from you today. If you already use Town, the Maps lookups and voice mode are worth trying next time you need directions or would rather talk than type, and the Decks upgrade is useful if you build shareable decks with your Townie.
