Amazon blocks Meta's Muse from shopping on its site

Your move: Muse purchases on Amazon now fail; nothing else about Muse changes

On Sunday night, September 20, 2026, Amazon started blocking Meta's Muse from making purchases on Amazon.com, after Meta declined Amazon's request to remove the agent from the site. Muse users who try to buy something on Amazon now get an error message saying continued access by an unauthorized AI agent violates Amazon's Conditions of Use. The block only affects shopping on Amazon; Muse's other features are unaffected.

Why it matters

If you use Muse to shop, purchases through it on Amazon will fail until this is resolved between the two companies. It's also an early sign of how retailers plan to handle AI shopping agents they didn't invite onto their sites, worth watching if you rely on any agent for online shopping beyond just Muse.
