Muse can now find and cancel your unwanted subscriptions
Your move: Only works if you give Muse access to your bank or card statements
Meta's Muse can now look through a user's bank and credit card statements, connected directly or uploaded as copies with private details blacked out, to spot recurring subscription charges, flag ones that look unused, and help cancel them. CNBC quotes ScribeUp, which builds subscription tools for banking apps: the average subscription its users cancel costs $17.39 a month, and ScribeUp says it saves users more than $300 a year on average. Those figures are ScribeUp's, not Muse's own results.
Why it matters
This only works if you give Muse access to your real bank or card statements, so weigh that against the convenience before turning it on. It's a genuinely useful budgeting feature, but it's also a new way Muse reaches into your financial accounts, on top of the shopping and payment features it already has.
