Muse climbs to the No. 2 app in the US, TechCrunch reports

Your move: Strong on iOS so far, much weaker on Android

On September 10, 2026, TechCrunch reported that Meta's Muse had climbed to the No. 2 spot on the overall US Apple App Store chart, up from No. 4 a day earlier. Sensor Tower data cited in the report put its US iOS downloads at more than 83,000 since launch. That's a smaller debut than other recent Meta apps: Threads pulled in 4.3 million downloads on its first day, and the separate Meta AI app had 108,000. Muse's Android app is ranking far lower, at No. 338 in Google Play's Productivity category.

Why it matters

Strong early downloads show real curiosity about agent-style assistants, not just chatbots, and give Meta more reason to keep investing in Muse and fix its early rough edges quickly. But download counts alone don't say how many people keep using it or how well it holds up day to day, especially with reports the same week that Meta's own staff had flagged privacy and security problems in pre-launch testing.
