Meta open-sources Muse Gadgets and is giving away a Home Link

Your move: 5,000 Home Links, free to US subscribers, shipping in October

On October 2, 2026, Meta published Muse Gadgets, open-source ESP32 firmware and a Linux SDK so people can connect Muse to their own hardware. It also built Muse Home Link, a USB-C stick based on the ESP32-C5 chip that puts Muse on a home Wi-Fi network. Meta made 5,000 of them and is giving them away free to subscribers in the United States with an active Muse plan, one each, with shipping in October.

Why it matters

If you already subscribe to Muse in the US, you can claim a Home Link while the batch lasts, or use the open-source kit to build your own gadget. The giveaway stick runs Meta's official firmware and cannot be reflashed, so a board you build yourself is the way to change the software.
